One-day swim camps for age-group swimmers, led by a national-level sprinter and Level 2 coach. Live in-water demonstrations, small groups, streamed by ability — so every drill is understood, not just repeated.
51.0s · 100m Freestyle Swim Wales National Centre Coach at Brighton College
Meet your coach
I swam competitively for over a decade, spending two years training at the Welsh National Swimming Centre with Swim Wales under an Olympic coach, and racing at national championships. My main event is the 100m freestyle, with a best of 51.0.
These days I coach at Brighton College as a Swim England Level 2 coach. I've spent enough years on both sides of the lane rope to know what actually moves a young swimmer forward — and it's rarely more metres.
These camps are the sessions I wish I'd had at eleven: someone in the water in front of me, showing exactly what the drill is meant to look like.
How I coach
Everything we do in a camp comes back to these. They're simple enough for a nine-year-old to repeat, and honest enough that they still hold at national level.

A length done properly beats ten done tired. We build the shape first and add speed to it.
02
Body position, catch, breathing — deliberate, repeatable, under the swimmer's own command.
03
One clear thing to think about per drill. Kids improve fastest when they know what they're chasing.
04
Swimmers who enjoy the work stay in the sport. Camps should feel like the best session of their term.
Why a camp, not another club night
In a busy club session there's rarely time to get in the water and show a drill properly. A camp is built around exactly that — I demonstrate, they copy, we correct, they repeat it until it's theirs.
Live demonstrations of every drill, from the same eye level they'll swim it at.
Each drill earns the next one. Swimmers finish the day knowing the order and the why.
Almost every age-group time drop hides behind alignment. We fix it before anything else.
The point isn't one good day — it's a swimmer who knows what a good drill feels like.
Groups set, ability streams confirmed, one target each for the day.
Demonstration-led alignment, kick and balance work.
Catch, timing and breathing, built drill by drill with video feedback.
Starts, turns, finishes — then a written take-home for club coaches.
