For parents
Questions, answered
Anything not covered here, email me directly — I answer every one myself.
Yes. Camps are streamed by ability after the warm-up, so a swimmer working towards their first club times and one chasing a regional cut both get a session pitched at them. The only requirement is that they can swim a length of front crawl comfortably and are training with a club or squad.
Never more than eight swimmers to me per lane group, and most camps run tighter than that. Bigger camps bring in a second qualified coach rather than stretching the ratio.
Yes — enhanced DBS, Swim England safeguarding trained, and full public liability insurance. Certificates are available on request and are held on file with each host venue.
Please do. Every venue has spectator seating and I’d rather parents saw the drills — it makes the conversation on the drive home a lot more useful. I’ll also run through the day’s focus with parents before we start.
Two costumes, two towels, goggles (plus a spare pair), a cap, a full water bottle and a packed lunch or snacks for the longer days. Fins and a pull buoy if they own them, though I bring spares.
Nothing is payable at the interest stage. Once a camp confirms I’ll email registered families a place with a payment link. Full refunds up to 14 days before, 50% after that, and a full refund any time if I have to cancel the camp.
Every swimmer leaves with a written summary of what we worked on and the drills to keep doing. Plenty of club coaches ask me to email it over directly — happy to, with your permission.
